It all began with an idea
Before there was His Wardrobe, there was Her Wardrobe Markets.
What began as one small fashion market at Shailer Park State High School in February 2015 has grown into one of Australia's longest-running and most successful secondhand fashion market communities, with more than 500 events held across South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.
Over the years, we've popped op everywhere from Brisbane to the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast and Northern NSW, transforming all kinds of venues into vibrant fashion markets where tens of thousands of wardrobes have found a second life.
Our mission has always been simple: make it easy for everyday people to clear out their wardrobes, make extra money, shop more sustainably and connect with like-minded people who love great fashion.
Along the way we've helped build countless side hustles, lifelong friendships and a thriving circular fashion community.
A New Chapter
For many years our weekly home was Mt Gravatt Showgrounds.
While we no longer operate there, we're incredibly grateful to everyone who was part of that chapter.
We're continuing to advocate for the community through our dedicated Instagram page and remain hopeful that one day we'll see an outcome that benefits the local community once again.
If you'd like to follow that journey, you can find our updates over at @mtgravattfashionmarket.
In the meantime, Her Wardrobe Markets continues to grow with new homes across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and beyond, including Tugunm Newstead, Red Hill, Indooroopilly and other exciting locations still to come.
Why His Wardrobe?
Men have always been welcome.
From day one we've loved seeing partners, brothers, dads, sons and mates wandering the markets, shopping secondhand, selling a few pieces or simply carrying the shopping bags.
But over the past few years one question kept popping up more and more:
"What about the blokes?"
So after more than 500 markets, we thought it was finally time to make it official.
His Wardrobe isn't a separate market.
It's a dedicated men's section growing inside Her Wardrobe Markets slowly, naturally and with the same community-first approach we've always believed in.
We're taking our time, seeing what works and inviting more men to become part of our circular fashion movement.
